I've just done stocktake at work.

I work in a hardware store with over 60,000 lines of stock. I thought last year was bad with the drainage cleaner (Highly corrosive) tipped through boxes and 124 loose mousetraps... At least I had somewhere to sit and only worked 14 hours all up.

This year I worked 18 hours and had no place to sit, I knelt on hard cement floor and counted shelving, and was hit in the head each time brackets fell over. I then counted hinges. When I couldn't kneel I had to crouch until it felt as though my legs would collapse.

Did you know that no shelving brackets were in the correct hole? There was over 200 of the little things.

That was yesterday.

Today I had too punch in all the stuff I'd counted yesterday, and ended up being shoved over to 6 trolleys of RUBBISH that no one else wanted. Literally the DREGS of stocktake. Items from everywhere all piled up, half of which was damaged or stolen, another third unlabeled and the rest countable.

It took me and a coworker 5 hours.

There was 700 items in those trolleys.
